Romantic Birthday Ideas

A birthday is the perfect opportunity to show that special someone in your life how much you care about him/her. If you want to do something really special, try to think outside the box. Sure, a candle light dinner with music is a classic way to express your love, but by being a bit more creative you can surprise them and touch their heart. It does not have to be an expensive gift, it can be something which can be emotionally moving, like recreating your first date, or it can be something that he or she always wanted to do. For a romantic celebration, the most important thing is maintaining the element of surprise.

Here are some ideas that you can use to make that someone special's birthday a day to remember. With a little bit of creativity and a lot of imagination, you can even come up with your own, to make it a truly memorable one.
  •  Beach Picnic: A beach is the perfect place for a romantic setting. You can prepare a picnic and surprise her, or if you want it to be a little more elaborate, you can take the help of a friend to set a table on the beach, with a specially prepared gourmet meal along with wine. It's not that difficult and will definitely be a hit. You can end the evening by having her favorite dessert while watching the sunset.
  • Treasure Hunt: Another option is to have a treasure hunt game, where the prize will be...well, what else, you of course. You can keep the first note somewhere where he won't miss it and have a small riddle or clue which will get him to the next place. You can choose places which are important to you in your relationship or hold special memories. In the end, the last place is where you should be present with a rose in one hand and a glass of champagne in the other. This is definitely something he won't forget.
  • Road Trip: One of the best choices for him is planning a mini road trip and whisking him away for the weekend. You will have to plan ahead for this idea to be a success. Start by choosing the perfect place, it can be a quaint seaside village, or an action-packed place like Las Vegas. There are several holiday choices for couples that you can refer to make this a smashing success. It depends on what you think he will enjoy. Make sure you tell his secretary or colleagues to clear his schedule without him getting a whiff of what is being planned. On his special day, tell him that you have to go to the airport to pick up a friend. Once you reach the airport you can disclose 'the secret' to him.
  • Romantic Poetry: Writing a poem is one of the most romantic things you can do. Anyone would like to hear something written specially for them. There are many famous relationship poems you can read to get an idea. If you play a musical instrument, you can compose a song and present her with a CD of your song, or better yet, you can have it played while having dinner at your favorite restaurant.
  • Scrapbooking: To make a more personalized gift, scrapbooking is a good choice. Make a scrapbook with pictures of him/her and add personal messages to make it more interesting and fun-filled. You can make it even more personal by including pictures of the place you first met, or your first date pictures, etc. This extra effort will definitely be appreciated and cherished for life.
  • Jewelry: If you are more of the traditional kind, one of the perfect and evergreen ideas for women is jewelry, and for men is a watch or a gadget. To make it a little more special, have them engraved with a special message.
  • Adventure Sports: Another option for husbands is if you know that he always wanted to do some activity (like bungee jumping or rappelling), then what better way to show how much you care than by planning the activity for him. It will be a unique way of celebrating the occasion and will definitely bring a smile to his face. There is never a dearth of romantic things to do, as long as you have your imagination working for you.
A birthday is just an excuse to sweep her off her feet or to make him realize how important he is to you. You can be as creative as you want, to come up with the perfect birthday by using one or more of the aforementioned ideas.

10 Ways to Say I Love You

Falling in love is a wonderful feeling. You smile for no reason, and there is always just the one person on your mind. You love to do the things that you hated, just to make the one you love happy. However, one of the most difficult things to say is three simple words, 'I Love You'. It is said actions speak larger than words, therefore you can try some cute ways to express your love with and without words.

Saying 'I Love You' with Words

The following tricks work like magic. These words help you build stronger bonds with your lover. It helps one open the communication door and spread the word of care and love.
  •  I adore you, honey
  • I live for you.
  • Every minute, every second, I want to live with you.
  • You are my lifeline
  • Just a thought of you, brings a hundred-watt smile on my face
  • My world is a better place, since the day you became mine.
  • You're my nebulizer. Without you, I can't breathe.
  • You're the person I can spend hours quietly sitting with and feel like I've had the best conversation.
  • There are moments in life that I will always remember. Not because they were important, but because you were there.
  • I give the same guarantee as the baby shampoo: 'no more tears'.
Saying 'I Love You' without Words

Your partner already knows you love him/her as you often find yourself saying I love you. However, there is something more than saying just a simple 'I love you'. That part is the non-verbal part that you can inculcate and show your affection. Not all men are comfortable saying I love you, or receiving a verbal "I love you". Women just love the little extra effort taken by their man to show he loves her. The following are ways to help you express your emotions without sounding loud and repetitive.

Burn the Fire of Romance
You can send your spouse or partner a simple card that says 'I love you' at their office. Or just tuck in the card under their pillow, while they are asleep. They will be absolutely happy to find the card when they wake up and to see a loving, note from you. Or you can set the card at a place where they are bound to notice your I love you card. Like the kitchen table, dressing table, their workstation, or use a magnet and stick it on the refrigerator door. The idea is to let your partner know you love them, especially at times when they least expect those three magical words.

 Love You Chit Treasure
You can bring home different colored papers and write a romantic message on each one of them. Make sure you make about 30 such romantic notes and keep them around the house, one every day. This way your partner will find new love notes around the house. This will surely brighten up, not just their day, but the entire month. They will look forward to these love notes with different romantic messages written in them.

Good Morning Toast
You can use a toast stamper that says 'I love you' or has some cute hearts over it. Just press it slightly over the bread and toast it. The bread will be toasted with the impressions that says 'I love you'. This will be a highly personalized breakfast that your partner will love eating. This is an excellent way to start their day on a romantic note.

Mirror, Mirror in the Shower
You can take a nice hot bath and write 'I love you' or 'You are so hot' or 'You take my breath away', on the foggy mirror. When it's time for your partner to take a bath, the mirror will fog up again, revealing your secret message.

My Lover, the Best of the Best
Brag, that's right, brag about your partner in front of his/ her family and friends. Make sure he/ she is the center of your conversation. This is a great self-confidence booster for your partner. But do not go overboard. You do not want to sound too fake, or saturate the conversation with just your partner's abilities. Keep things on natural, and make sure you do not embarrass your partner with too much bragging.

Romantic Gestures
There are many romantic gestures of love that you can try to make your partner feel special. Just hold hands while you are out taking a walk or shopping, always maintain eye contact while you speak to your partner, and make sure your body language indicates your love for him/her. Always be there to provide a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to their problems. These gestures show that you care and are there for them always.

Everybody Loves Gifts
It's a fact that everybody loves gifts, but receiving unexpected romantic gifts from one's partner has its own pleasure. Keep in mind the things your partner is thinking about buying. It may be a book, some piece of jewelry, or maybe some clothes. Gifting the things they were eagerly saving to buy is a great way to say I love you.

Bake a Cake
One of the romantic and cute ways to express your love is by baking a cake. You can either bake a heart-shaped cake or write I love you on the cake. This will be a very romantic and sweet gesture to show that you care. Why just limit your culinary talent to a cake? If you can make chocolate, then little heart-shaped candies can be gifted to your loved one. Or maybe you can try dinner ideas for two and cook some of the favorite recipes of your lover and order an exquisite wine. Create a romantic atmosphere by turning on some romantic numbers and treat your lover with some loving kisses and hugs that shows your love.

I am Doing My Best for You
If you have an annoying habit that your partner just hates such as smoking, you can try changing it. Make sure you remember to throw out the trash, or pick up your dirty socks and linen and put them in the appropriate place. Your efforts to overcome a bad habit that irritates your partner is a nice way to show you love them. Changing yourself for someone can be one of the best way to express your love.

My Heart is Filled with Your Love
Before your partner comes home from work, make a big heart of rose petals near the door. Leave a trail of rose petals leading to the bedroom. Complete the trail with a big 'I Love You' using the rose petals on the bed. This is a very romantic way to show your love.

This relationship advice will help rekindle your love and keep the fire of romance burning in your life. Hopefully now you would be able to say the three magical words more often.

Different Ways to Say I Love You

They say love has no language. Or music has no language. Or something ... but anyway, the fact of the matter is that one does to get bored of saying I love you in the English language to their partner over and over again. And then again, some never tire of saying these three words, but want a different, more creative way of expressing themselves. Perhaps, you could say it to your boyfriend or girlfriend in various languages.

Saying 'I Love You' in Spanish
The Spanish language is one of those languages that drools with passion. Spaniards are known to be wonderful lovers, amorous to the core. So, why not express your love in Spanish?
  • Te Quiero - Te Quiero is the most common way to say it in Spanish.
  • Te Amo - While Te Quiero has a wide usability, (you can say it to your friends, relatives, etc.) Te Amo is supposed to be quite restricted to your partner.
  • Me Gustas Muchos - This is to like someone a lot, specifically in a sexual way.
  • Te adoro - This means I adore you.
  • Te Amo Corazon - An extension of the te amo, te amo corazon means I love my beloved.
Saying 'I Love You' in French
The French language is another widely spoken European language which is about as passionate as languages get!
  • Je t'aime - Simple and sweet, 'I love you'.
  • Je t'adore - I adore you.
  • Tu es le soleil de ma vie - A common phrase meaning 'you are the sunshine of my life'.
  • Je t'aime à la folie - Meaning 'I love you madly'.
Saying 'I Love You' in Japanese
Leave the European languages to those who are clichéd! Love isn't the first thing that comes to your mind when we say Japan- Martial arts or Toyota might be. But then again, what's love without a bit of surprise! Now, of course writing 'I love you' in the Japanese language script might not make much sense to you, so we'll write it the way you'd be pronouncing it.
  • Aishite'ru - I love you.
  • Daisuki - I love you.
In Additional Languages
  • Ek het jou lief - Afrikaans.
  • Ik hou van jou - Dutch.
  • Main Tumhe Pyar Karta (male)/Karti (female) Hoon - Hindi.
  • Ti Amo - Italian.
  • Mujhe tumse mohabbat hai - Urdu.
It's not just important to say it, you gotta mean it too. But hey, saying it in another language helps to sauce it up, creating the image of more love. Now, you can greet your lover in a different language every morning!

Romantic Things To Do

What is romance? As Disraeli very rightly says, "Romance has been elegantly defined as the offspring of fiction and love." Don't you agree? Many relationships go on without romance, hence, the frustration and differences. Try out these few romantic steps and rekindle the light of love in your relationship.
  • Mid-night walk: Go for a walk together, at midnight. Don't just walk. Walk hand in hand and talk to each other. Talk about anything that comes in your mind and listen to what your partner has to say as well. This will refresh the relationship.
  • Love Letter: Write your sweetheart a love letter. Even if you don't know how to write one. Write whatever you can, straight from the heart. Don't copy from anywhere, your true feelings are more perfect than any poem or epic in the world.
  • Cook it up: This one is an age-old treatment for the influence of routine on your love life. Cook food together. How you'll eat it, doesn't matter, as long as you'll cook it together and enjoy the experience.
  • Re-live old days: This one is, specially, for the ones who have been together for too long. Go out on a "first date" all over again. Go to a completely new place and dress all up for it. I am sure you won't be as nervous as you were on your first date. But, the experience of dating should be fun.
  • Do Nothing: Spend a day together doing, absolutely, nothing. Read together, go through your daily chores, together. Do everything, together. You could also spend the day sitting around and doing nothing all day. It can be fun, really!
  • Shower time: Shower together. Against popular belief, it is not only to heat up the sex life, but also to rejuvenate the romance. Scrub each others backs and shampoo each others hair. The gentleness and the love will be more apparent than ever, this way.
  • Flirt: This can be done when the two of you are in a party. Flirt with each other, voraciously. Be the biggest flirts in the place. Sing for each other, use pick-up lines that work on each other and buy each other drinks. The woman can give the guy all the attention and use pick-up lines indiscreetly and the guy can try to be as slick as possible. It will be a lot of fun!
  • Charades: Communicate with each other, without words. Use only your body language and eyes. This way, you'll need to look at each other all the time. What can be more romantic than having your sweetheart's eyes on you the whole time?
  • Roses: Nothing can spell romance the way roses can. Do this when you are not at home (according to your partner) and they are. Buy your partner a dozen long-stemmed (or however they like it) red roses and leave it at the front door. Then call them up and tell them to open the front door. This will be a good surprise. Once they see and pick up the roses, go and give them a hug and a long kiss.
  • To your back: You can do this when your partner is engrossed in something that is mentally stressful. Go behind them and give them a hug and a kiss on the neck. Then just whisper in their ear, "I love you, forever".
  • Carry on: This could simply be a daily tradition that the two of you could follow. Everyday, carry her to bed. Don't just leave it for the honeymoon. Do this every night. Not only will it increase your stamina, it will also assure her of your love, every night.
The most important and the best romantic thing to do, is to love each other, truly, madly, deeply and forever.

Romantic Love Tips and Ideas

Love is an emotion so pure and sublime that it can make life worth living. All of us have experienced it at some point in our lives, many of the bright minds have attempted to capture it in words and yet there exists no rigid definition for romance or love. It is one of those things that needs to be experienced to be understood. For some romance is about candle light dinners, long walks along the beach, looking into each others eyes, exchanging mushy gifts, and beautiful flowers. For some it is about engaging conversations and sharing dreams and hopes. At the end one thing that remains constant in all these ideas is togetherness. Romance implies togetherness be it psychological, physical, or both.

Well if you think you are creative enough to think of romantic ideas for dates, proposals, or any relationship problems - good for you! But there are many people out in the world who could use some suggestions and tips to be think of more creative and romantic while in a relationship. Romance is not an ingredient of a relationship, it a continuous and undying process which has to go on sometimes with or sometimes without any special help or efforts. Relationships and romance do not happen at once and lead to 'happily forever' on their own. People who are in love need to experience the various stages of a romantic relationship and enjoy every single step, without ever doubting their abilities or their will to stay together.

Romantic Ideas for a Date
If you are looking for ideas for a romantic date, the answer lies with you. Think of the things that you enjoy and the things that your date might enjoy. Break away from the clichéd romantic date ideas of candle light dinners and moonlight walks. Think of something original or at least give an original twist to the conventional romantic date ideas. For example plan a candle light dinner at home. A home-cooked meal followed by a great romantic movie on your home theater, as you sip wine, and munch on some popcorn might be a fun and romantic idea for a date. In addition to this you can also indulge in fun activities and adventure sports of course with your partner's consent. Beautiful nature trails or rafting in the white waters can be a great way to experience nature on your romantic date. In addition to this, you can also go out for an event that interests both of you - be it a musical concert or a basketball match. Indulge in activities that are in line with your interests but do not hesitate to experiment and explore other romantic ideas.

Romantic Ways On How to End a Fight
Imagine fighting with your partner about something. Just as you are exchanging heated words and calling names, your partner suddenly hugs you. Yes, the best way to end a fight is to give your partner a warm hug. In case that is not possible try to think of a really cute way to say you are sorry. Say it with roses, or may be even a small gift. Humor also happens to be one of the bet options to end the fight by making your partner laugh. Try this: while you are fighting, suddenly stop talking and once your partner starts speaking repeat everything that she/he says in a very funny accent. Your partner can pretend to be irritated at this for a while, but soon both of your will be laughing your heads off and the fight will be forgotten.

I would not say romance is not about the initial butterflies in the stomach and the anticipation of the first kiss, because it is. Romance is about the wonderful beginnings, the sparks, fireworks, but it is also about the tranquility that follows. It is also about surviving the arguments and fights. Romance is about discovering and exploring the world together, but more so about understanding and appreciating each other.

Best Topics to Talk About With a Girl

Here are a few simple pointers that could help us on our way to having a good conversation with the ladies -

Be genuine
This is the most important part of any conversation you wish to have with your lady love. When you talk my friend, always be genuinely interested in what you say, for women have an incredible knack of sniffing out our fear! If you really mean what you say, it will definitely show in your talks. There's absolutely no doubt in your commitment to talk to her, but that doesn't mean that the same applies to what you actually talk about. Keep it simple and genuine.

Personalize the talks
If you are in fact looking to talk to her, it just makes sense to talk about her, or that are related to her. So, rather than talk about just something random, try to keep the talks more relevant and personal. It would help your cause a lot more if it shows from your talks that you actually notice her. You might want to keep in mind though, there is a thin line between an admirer, and a stalker, so tread carefully my friend.

Keep it short
Once you manage to strike up a conversation with her, you might want to make sure that you don't get carried away with your talks. Remember, these are unchartered waters for you, so before you run out of steam while talking, let her take over. Keep in mind that this is supposed to be a conversation and not a dialog, so keep it short and simple.

Listen
I cannot emphasize on this enough, when the lady talks, listen to every word she says. Good listeners make for better talkers, so if you pay close attention to what she says, you would be able to have a good conversation with her, rather than just be a mute spectator. It would also show that you are genuine, and care enough to take her words seriously.

Mind your (body) language
Women like confident men. Remember, more than the actual words that you say, she would relate to the way you say it. You don't want to stutter when you talk to her (although it might just get her in splits!). When you speak, do so with confidence. Your body language goes a long way to show your confidence. You don't want your body language to remind her of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame, nor do you want to seem like the Rough Sergeant. Calm yourself and keep your body language relaxed but confident, which will in turn show in your talks as well.

Keep these little things in mind and it will be smooth sailing for you. Although there cannot be fixed topics for you to talk about, listed below are a few general topics which more often than not tend to work.

Fashion
It is no secret that women and fashion are just made for each other. There's nothing like talking about fashion with women. But be warned, get one fact wrong and you will be left red faced; talk too much about fashion, and you might just be shunned into her girly-girlfriend zone forever.

Movies
You could try talking about your favorite movies, and get to know hers. You could even talk about the Hollywood stars, or share the latest gossip with her. Get this right and you could well have her floored in no time.

Weather
As simple a topic as it may seem, the weather is often one of the easiest conversation starters there could be. Everyone relates to the topic, and there's little chance of you going wrong with it. Again, you might want to switch to another topic soon enough, or you may end up sounding like the local weather reporter!

Books
Books could just be the perfect catalyst for you to strike up a conversation with someone of the fairer sex. You don't want to sound like a nerd, nor do you want to sound like a douche bag. If she is in fact an avid reader, you might just have got yourself a great friend.

 Music
There's a very good reason why they say that 'music calms the soul'. If you know about music, you could strike a conversation with her about the different genres of music, her favorite bands, her favorite song, etc. If you strike the right chord, you might just have someone for company, as you groove to your favorite track.

Food
If you intend to ask the pretty lady out, you might want to talk to her about her favorite cuisines. Then, once you are into the conversation, you could always suggest a good food joint that she might like (Google Maps to the rescue!), and being the gentleman that you are, you could even offer to take her there. Food can very well find its way to a woman's heart as well you know.

Gossip
People, whether they accept it or not, irrespective of their race, gender, or nationality, love gossip; their subjects of interest may differ, but everyone is all ears for some juicy gossip! If you are able to gauge her interests, you could let her in on some insider information about it. If you are able to strike the right balance between being a gossip monger, and a well informed guy, along with a generous amount of your charm in the mix, you should make her feel right at home talking to you.

You can of course talk about anything and everything under the sun, but remember it isn't what you know to talk about, instead it is what she wants to hear. So my fellow men do not despair, keep striving, and live by what J.R.R. Tolkien says, Oft hope is born when all is forlorn. Keep the faith my friends, and for all the women reading this, if a guy approaches you and messes up, please cut him some slack, we men are just not cut out to be great talkers! Cheers.

Romance on the Cheap - Nice Dates with a Nice Price Tag

We've all been there: we want to show the one we love, a wonderful time, and the first idea that comes into our mind is an extravagant dinner, theater production, opera, concert, or other expensive event. Then we look into our wallets and realize that's not going to happen.

Whether you're a college student just barely scraping by or an adult just barely scraping by, you're in luck! It's easy and fun to date without spending exorbitant amounts of cash. It doesn't need to be big and expensive to be sweet and romantic. Think simple! Here are some ideas to get you started planning your next date on the cheap.

Dinner at home
Dinners at home are the easiest way to say, "I really care about you," without having to spend a ton of cash. Cook up something tasty, light a few candles, and turn on some Barry White and you're good to go! This intimate evening will be one your lover will never forget.

Walks
Taking a walk along a river, lake, beach, forest, or any other scenic setting can be the easiest way to be romantic without spending a dime. Take your girl or guy to your favorite park, or even take a walk through the city. Walking hand in hand, you'll find yourselves delving into fascinating conversation that will bring you closer with each and every step.

Play a game
Bring out the child in both of you and play a game! Whether it be Monopoly or a video game, have some fun and enjoy each other's company. A night of gaming can be one of the most enjoyable things you and your partner ever do (besides sex, perhaps)!

Play a game... in the bedroom
Spice up your sex life! Try something new, experiment, push your comfort zones. Whatever it takes, just spend the night pleasuring each other in ways you'd never thought of before. It's not only romantic and pleasing, but letting your imagination run wild can be fascinating in itself!

Brown-bag it
That's right - picnic. Pack up a lunch for the two of you, and hit that cute little park nearby. Bring a blanket for the two of you to sit on and enjoy the fresh air. Both of you will feel refreshed and satisfied. Maybe slip a little surprise in your significant other's lunch, like some dark chocolates!

Museums
Often times, museums are either free admission or very inexpensive. A trip to your local history or art museum can be educational and romantic in many ways. You'll both learn a little and hey, if it's cheap or free why not!

Being romantic while having little money isn't impossible. In fact, even if you do have money you don't need to spend a lot of it to show you care. Sometimes things that cost little or nothing, show you care far more than a store-bought gift. Get creative, and you'll find you and your lover becoming closer than ever before!

What is Romance

Though this question sounds simple, it is very difficult to answer. Try it and see if you can say what romance is. Is it something to do with love? Is it togetherness and spending time with your lover? Well no it is much, much more. Romance is the very essence of life. Without romance your love life will not exist. It is the true identity of your love, that brings out your true self and helps you be a better lover, husband and partner. It is a celebration of the life you live as a couple. It springs naturally and originates from within your heart. It makes you do things that you possibly couldn't have even imagined before. It shows you who you are and reminds you of the role you play in a relationship. Romance is not responsibility but it is caring about your responsibilities towards your lover and partner. It is the appreciation of two people who are celebrating the lucky coincidence that they found each other.

However, often in the daily rush and workload, people tend to forget the little gestures, and so we have brought for you a list of things that you can do to keep the flame of romance burning in your heart forever. Signs of Romantic Attraction

Romantic attraction is something that is known and felt from within. In this busy world, we often come across various types of people - some make a good impression on our minds, whereas some hardly make a difference to our lives. It so happens that only a few people touch our hearts in a very special way, and we feel inclined towards such people very differently.

However, is it possible to know if someone is attracted to you? We do always worry about reading the wrong gestures and then having to face rejection. We also fervently hope for some sure signs and wish there was a goblet that would reveal the truth! Although there's no such goblet, we do have some signs of romantic attraction which can be used as a guideline to know for sure if the person you like is interested in you.

A feeling of love and adoration between two people is something that can be measured or observed through various ways. The body language of a person can reveal a lot about him or her. It can definitely be used to understand one's feelings and thoughts.
  • The eyes can reveal many things about a person, and can give emotions away. If you have met an interesting person at a function and he/she gives you long, lingering looks, perhaps in a very sensual manner, you can rest assured that the person is interested. Deep or shy gazes, and frequent, discreet glances in your direction mean that there's something brewing in his/her mind.
  •  Make it a point to notice the person's hands when you are conversing with him/her. Running fingers through the hair, or twirling strands of hair around the fingers is often a sign the person is interested in you. He or she may even have subconsciously copied your seating stance, and may flash a brilliant smile every time you look into his/her eyes.
  • If the person you think is attracted to you is from your circle of friends, you are bound to experience him/her getting touchy, a little more than usual. Holding the arm gently, or touching the hand for a little longer than required are all signs you should look out for.
  • When a person takes an interest in your hobbies and likes and dislikes, it is a sure sign of romantic inclination. The person is bound to make more efforts to get to know you better. He/she may start to hang out at the places you frequent, or may even try to accompany you to different places. He/she may call you often, or take a genuine interest in your circle of friends and your family.
  • A sudden interest in your life is a clear indication that tells you if a person is attracted to you. This is simply because he/she wants to know you better. Finding excuses to spend time with you is yet another sign. If you both enjoy each other's company, then what's stopping you from returning the sweet gestures?
These aforementioned signs are an indication to know and understand what a person thinks and feels. If you find the person genuine enough, you can go ahead and reciprocate the feelings if you feel the same about him/her! Best of luck!

You must have frequented all the fine dining restaurants in the town and must have had numerous movie dates to spend time with your partner. A romantic date need not always be plush and luxurious in a restaurant or a club. How about planning something at home? Your home can be a perfect place for the both of you to have a romantic time together. All that you need is creativity and some preparation. Let us assume that you are aware of your partner's likes and dislikes in nearly all the aspects (if not, at least try to know his favorite food and music). If you have children, do not forget to arrange for a babysitter, in advance.

Tips to Have a Romantic Evening at Home

Candlelight dinner
You can have the traditional old style date with food, music, and wine. Try an al fresco or outdoor dinner in your backyard. Wear your cocktail dress, cook his favorite food, include a variety of desserts and also some good quality wine. The surprise candle light dinner can be followed with a dance, if you both appreciate it. Those living in apartments can plan this in their balcony.

Cook together
Cooking can be a great fun activity for couples. Try baking desserts or a new recipe together. It will be a lot of fun, chopping, frying, and baking together along with talking and having fun. If the dish is successful, you will really enjoy it. If not, you can always have catered food at home as an option. Here, the process is more pleasurable than the actual product!

Relax
Another idea includes having a relaxing bubble bath or giving each other a massage. Make sure you have a lot of scented oils. You can even make it more exciting by having rose petals and scented candles. This will make your evening romantic as well as a passionate one. You can try going for a swim together in the moonlight.

Movie night
Cook his/your favorite dishes, uncork a bottle of wine, and watch a romantic movie or your favorite television series! Choose a movie that you both love or the one that you both watched the first time together as a couple. This is one of the easiest ways to spend time together at home, with minimal preparations. This can also be a cool rainy day activity.

Trip down the memory lane
If in a long-distance relationship, you can just spend time together talking. Create the mood of nostalgia by recalling the firsts in your relationship like your first date or first kiss. Spend time going through old photographs, reliving those wonderful moments. You can catch up with a romantic movie or a classical romantic novel. Just spend some 'us' time together.

The whole idea is to get that much-needed together time. Married couples can plan romantic dates and revive their courtship days. Try not to exaggerate things. Having a calm and peaceful time together is the keyword. Exaggeration and complication can pressurize your partner. Just allow the romance to fill the air. Do not worry whether things will work out as planned or not. They definitely will! And, if they do not, your partner will appreciate your ideas and hard work. Good luck!

How to Fall in Love

Te Quiero, Te Amo, Me Gusta Mucha, Je t'aime à la folie ... and with a thousand different ways to say "I love you", the ways of actually falling on love still remain a mystery for some people. To begin with, there is no formula for falling in love with someone. No emotion is strategic, which is why love just happens; unknowingly and unintentionally. However, there are some who have too many inhibitions about taking the plunge and experiencing an emotion that is rare to come by. To those of you, here's what to do.

Falling in Love

Mechanics of Love
To be loved, means to be wanted, cared for, and more importantly understood. These are somewhat the construed mechanics of love. As a child, as a sibling, as a girlfriend, as a boyfriend, as a wife, as a mother, as a father, as a friend, and through many other relations you have felt these technical aspects of love. They count even if they are in the smallest or the biggest of measurements. Love brings euphoria, elation, lightness, bliss, and a sense of completeness. So, if love is the answer for how to be happy in life, what's stopping you?

The Fear
We humans are ingrained with an incorrigible habit of believing in Murphy's law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Precisely, with this defeatist attitude we miss out evident avenues of affection and try to figure out ways of how to fall in love with someone. This how the fear of commitment initiates. But, an interesting thing to note here is what do you really have to lose? When there is nothing to lose, there is no need to fear either.

Combating Fear of Commitment
What is commitment? It's not being stuck in shackles of someone else's whims and fancies. A commitment is a choice you make (a voluntary decision) to be with someone you love, because the person brings out the best in you. If being with your husband, boyfriend, or girlfriend, is going to bring out the best in you, then, technically, it DOES work in your favor. And by this you are free to make or break a commitment!

Focal Point
Falling in love is about accepting the person for who they are. It is about a companionship which complements togetherness. If you really want to be with a person, you need to focus on how this person in question helps you to grow both, intellectually and spiritually. If you can be what you are when you are with this person, it's time you take the plunge.

The Plunge
It's time, to make it or leave it. The plunge is not some switch you've got to turn on. It the moment of truth you've got to accept about yourself, undauntedly. If you've followed the aforementioned steps, you are ready to be with the person in question. Confess your love without a shadow of a doubt or without a trace of a waver. Don't worry about being rejected or accepted. It's always about loving someone, the returns are always in surplus. With this epoch making moment of your life, you would've successfully answered the Herculean question of how to fall in love.

Being in love is a good place to be in. Companionship allows you explore your strengths and weaknesses in a new light. It is an emotion which can push you to scale new heights. Love conquers all, says Virgil says. So just surrender and let love cast its spell.

Cheap Romantic Ideas

Romance is the most important factor that adds spice to a relationship. However, for most people, the idea of romance is taking their partner for a romantic holiday to an exotic place, taking him/her to a date at the most expensive restaurant, or may be buying expensive gifts for him/her. Though there is nothing wrong with these ideas, not everyone can afford such luxury. Nevertheless, romance does not lie in the money that you spend for your loved one, but it actually exists in the little things that you do for him/her. It may be just a simple thing like, making a cup of coffee or tea for your wife, when she comes home after a tiring day at work, or just watching a football match that you utterly despise with your boyfriend. In short, what I mean to say is that, one does not need loads of money to do something special for their partner. Rather, there are various inexpensive ideas that brightens up the day for your partner and makes it truly memorable for him/her. So, if you like the idea of doing something exciting for your partner without spending all your money, here are some ideas that can come to your rescue.

Breakfast in Bed
If you are married or living together, this is a really good idea that you can try at home. Though you can try this idea any day during the week, the weekend will be the best time as you and your partner will not be in a hurry to rush for work. Wake up before your partner, and dish out his/her favorite breakfast. If you are planning an elaborate breakfast, it will be a good idea to prepare few things on the previous day itself. For a romantic breakfast menu, you can include things like eggs, toast, coffee or juice, muffins, fruits, etc. Arrange all these foods on a big tray and to your partner in bed. Do not forget to place a bunch of flowers and the morning newspaper with the breakfast. Your partner will surely love the pleasant surprise that you planned for him/her.

Picnic at Home
Who said you have to go to a park or to a lakeside to have a picnic? Rather, you can actually have a picnic in your living room or on your terrace. For decoration, you can place some plants and flowers, lay a mattress, or comforter with a few comfortable cushions. To set the mood, use lights of various colors. Pack a picnic basket with some finger food, sandwiches, fruits, and a bottle of wine. If you are having a picnic on your terrace, set the place for a romantic night using candles, a cozy blanket, music, and the likes.

Make a Scrapbook
A memorabilia with your pictures, some love letters, of passages from romantic poems, will be ideal to give to your partner. Buy a colorful scrapbook from your local dollar store and paste the pictures in them. You can also add some love souvenirs that you have collected during the course of your relationship, like movie tickets that you saw together, a rose that he/she gave you, etc. You can also write your feelings about your other half in the scrapbook to make it the most special gift that he/she has ever received. The idea is to serenade your partner, so that your love for him/her will never be questioned.

Apart from these, some other romantic things that you can do for your loved one are writing a poem or a love letter, sending roses to his/her workplace without any reason, going for a long drive at night, preparing a bubble bath, or a body massage at home, etc. One must remember that the most romantic moment is the one which is done unexpectedly i.e. one need not wait for Valentine's Day, or even an anniversary for making a sweet gesture towards one's partner. So, try one of these romantic ideas, and I assure you that your loved one cherishes it for the rest of his/her life.

Reasons to Love Someone

You love people sometimes for the stupidest of reasons. There cannot be a list of qualities you can check and confirm your feelings for someone. Sometimes, you fall in love at first sight. For all you know, the person might already be married to someone. That's what love is. It just happens―without reasoning, without conditions. Nevertheless, once we spend time with that someone we love, we start falling in love with certain things they do or certain traits they possess. Instead of making a boring list, here's an extract from a letter, which a very dear friend of mine wrote to her fiancee.

Dearest A,

You would perhaps find this a bit childish, but this is what I really feel about you. I believe it is really important that you know why I love you. Here are my candid confessions about my feelings for you.

Reason #1
You are a fantastic human being. Need I elaborate? Nevertheless, by fantastic I mean the integrity of your character, the values and ethics (being truthful, honest, and genuine) you hold close to your heart, and the way you respect others and their way of thinking. I am a fan of your personality.

Reason #2
I love the way you balance humility, modesty, self-respect, and confidence. You are amazing at that. That I think, also gives you the power to detect your own flaws. And this, is really important, as there is a thin line between vanity and self-confidence.

Reason #3
You inspire me to be like you (obviously not when you have those fits of temper!); specially when you are at your best, in whatever you take up in life. Your tenacity and perseverance motivates me to the core and makes me want to be as independent and determined as I can. This is, I guess, one of the best reasons to love someone, right?

Reason #4
Now darling, enough of beating around the bush. I would get straight to the point. I love the way you love me and make me feel special. I think that says it all, but let me elucidate. I adore the way you look at me with your sincere and warm, blue eyes. They communicate respect, love, and a feeling of companionship. I love the way you never shy away or get tired of telling me how much you love me, which strengthens our relationship day by day. Oh yes, how can I forget how full of romance you are?

Reason #5
I love you because you make me laugh whenever I am low. That is one of the most important reasons to love someone, according to me. You know how to keep things light and easy when they tend to not be. That is also what precisely leads you to have such a positive and refreshing attitude towards life, which is simply amazing!

Well, actually, if I go on, the list of reasons can be endless, especially when it is me loving you! Therefore my dear A, I close this letter here, with lots of love.

That was just an excerpt. I am sure you would have a lot many reasons more to add. But trust me, in the end, it'll take just one second for you to know, he's the one.

Funny Ways To Say I Love You

Finding it difficult to express your feelings to someone you love is quite common. Nervousness and butterflies in the stomach are something to be expected when you finally decide to say those three special words to her. However, don't worry. Expressing it is not a very difficult task. All you require is the courage to speak and a little bit of creativity and romance. In healthy relationships, laughter is an antidote to small fights and worries. If you both can laugh together, be it in adversity or in luxury, you've found a source of everlasting happiness. Humor adds quality to love. When you are in that phase of your relationship when you finally want to say those three words to her, but want to do it in an unusual and different way, you can sprinkle a dose of humor into it. Following are some ideas.

Personalized Video
What you need is a camcorder, a computer and if you require, a video editing software. You can sing a song (even better if you're a bad singer). Try singing a popular song in a different style. Make a music video of it. The idea is to make her laugh and eventually tell her how you feel.

Shave Your Head
Guys can shave their head from behind and can get the words I Love You written on it. Your hairstylist can easily do this job. When you go to her with this new hairstyle, she will be more than exhilarated. She will burst into laughter and appreciate your sacrifice (hopefully).

Paint Your Body
Get the message I Love You and any other special words painted all over your body. Now, this has to be personal, as you may not find it very apt to do in public. Surprise her at home with your funny act.

Dance Your Heart Out
This can be made very hilarious and memorable. Make a dance video. If you're a poor dancer, then even better because your steps will appear funny. Choose a very good song or mix many songs together. Choreograph a very funny dance and at the end, hold up a banner having the words I Love You written on it. Very childish but funny.

Bonding Activities for Couples

Taking each other for granted is one of the most common sins that couples commit when they are in a relationship. This leads to strained relationships and in some cases couples drift so far apart that they don't come back together. Avoid this pitfall in a relationship and indulge in some bonding activities to iron away some of the wrinkles in your life.

If you love each other, it is advisable that you go the extra mile to ensure that your bond stays strong forever more. Restore the closeness in your relationship today, by starting off with simple things like telling your partner how much you value and care for him/her. The next step would be to make some time and space to rekindle and strengthen your relationship ties. Lot of people think that this would mean taking a holiday and spending loads of money. Well the reality is that you just need each other and nothing else for couple bonding activities. This may come as a surprise for some but you can do some simple things in the house as part of your bonding activity. Simply rubbing your partners back in the bathtub and reminiscing about the good old days is a great start. Here are a few other great activities for couples that you could explore.

Create Something

Download some carpentry plans from the Internet and go to the market together to buy the supplies needed for executing the project. Building something together is a unique experience and will allow you to focus on each other's strengths. One thing to remember here is that the task is to bond, creating something is secondary; it doesn't matter if you aren't good with carpentry skills.

Solve a Puzzle

To signify that you are getting to know each other piece by piece, get a puzzle from the market and solve it. Open a bottle of wine, put on some soothing music in the background, and start unraveling the puzzle, and along with it the reasons for your differences and togetherness.

Sense Appeal

One of the best ways to bond together as a couple, is to give each other a soothing massage. The idea is to give your partner, physical relief from the aches and pains of daily grind and preparing the atmosphere for healing the spirit. Appeal to all the senses, smell, sight, sound, touch, and taste when you take on this activity, Put flower petals on the mat, light scented candles, have chocolates around, put some romantic music and use your loving touch.

Movie Magic

Going for a drive-in movie is very romantic and can be a very remedial experience for your relationship. Set the mood right with things like buying your partner a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates which you can share if they are calorie-conscious. Cuddle up when you drive in for the movie and then surprise your partner with a small gift.

Dirty Dancing

Take a cue from the reality show 'Dancing with the Stars' and use dance as a bridge to come together and form an unbreakable bond. Enroll together for dance classes, and choose some passionate dance style like 'Salsa'. Remind yourself that along with the dancing you are also learning to appreciate your partner and contribute more to the relationship.

Thrills 'N' Chills

People say that a near-death experience changes you and you learn to appreciate what you have more than ever before. To create a controlled near-death experience is to enroll yourself in a skydiving course or go bungee jumping. Infuse some adventure and fun in your life as you learn to bond better with your partner.

Watching your favorite TV show together, cuddled in a blanket with a bowl of popcorn and the room lit with a sole-flickering candle will also work like magic. The idea is to make the effort and let someone else worry about the results. After all, it's not about the destination, it's the journey that counts.

Ways to Say I love You to Him

They say that it isn't said enough and that is the main reason why you don't hear any great romance stories nowadays. If you love him, don't miss the chance to tell that so, because once the moment passes you will never get it back. Sometimes we try to show that we are so tough and are in total control of our feelings and therefore avoid letting our emotions out. This is not the way to live, let go and indulge in your emotions and experience the uncertainties that come along with it.

If you love him express it, don't be shy, don't think what will happen, don't expect anything in return, just say it because you feel it. Sometimes saying 'I Love You' isn't enough, you need to back it up with a unique gesture.

Cute Ways to Say I love You to Him

Tell him how much you love him with a cute gesture that is sure to bring a smile to his face. This is the best way to make your connection felt. Find out what he likes and include that in your plan. Here are a few suggestions that will set your mind running.

  • Send him a 'Punch Me Toy', which says 'I Love You' every time he punches it.
  • Get him a pet cat which has a collar tag saying 'I love you' and your initial scribbled in the corner.
  • Without his understanding, attach a few balloons to the windshield of his car, with a dangling note that says I love you.
  • Send him flowers every 10 minutes, each bunch carrying one alphabet to form 'I Love You' with the last delivery.
  • Get him a bunch of fortune cookies and have each cookie say the same thing and that's, 'I love you'. Place pop up cards in 5 to 6 different locations for him to find and have each card say 'I love you'.
  • Leave him a note to call you and when he does, let the voicemail answer it to say how much you love him. One of the funkiest ways of saying I love you to him is sending him a singing telegram.
Out of the Box Ideas
  • Hire a sky writing expert and have him write I love you and his name while you cunningly take him for a walk in the park.
  • Get him in to the shower and write I love you on the fogged glass.
  • Get a wind-up toy from the mall that says I love you every time you turn the key.
  • Take him for a walk and have an electronic advertisements board say how much you love him.
  • Take him to a club with a band and ask the lead singer to dedicate a song to him and announce your love for him.
  • Get hold of a bunch of toddlers and get them to give him a rose with a note professing your love.
  • Learn how to say I love you in 10 different languages and say it to him while holding out a box of chocolates.
The words don't change but the idea is to say it in a different way, one that he will remember for time immemorial and recall the incident with fondness in his heart. The true measure of love is to bring happiness to other so do it with style, grace, and finesse.

The Chemistry of Love

Love is a beautiful feeling to be in. It cannot be explained or described, but can only be felt. The common symptoms of love include sweaty palms, faster heartbeat, shaky knees, loss of concentration, and dreaminess. But how can love be complete without some scientific statement? As a scientist cynically pointed out, cupid's arrows would never have been effective if they had not been first dipped in one unromantic chemical -- phenylethylamine. Nor would the world have given us dramas, like Romeo and Juliet, if oxytocin did not have its way. These and various other chemicals together make up the "syndrome of love."

Love can be easily categorized into two phases -- the initial phase of attraction and the later stage where attachment develops. Let us understand the chemistry behind each phase.

The Stage of Attraction

Phenylethylamine - (C8H11N) It is an organic compound that plays the role of a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system of humans and other mammals. This endogenous chemical is naturally present in the brain and helps focus, reduce stress, and regulate mood. It has the ability to release noradrenaline, a stimulant hormone, that gives a boost to your heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow. Low levels of this compound have been connected with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), along with certain types of depression. Abnormally high levels of this chemical have been observed in schizophrenic patients. The giddiness and feeling of high that one experiences during intimate moments is due to the increased concentration of this compound in the brain. It is also present in high levels in chocolate. Therefore, many a time, chocolate is referred to as a comfort food. Phenylethylamine present in it gives the feeling of happiness and increases confidence levels.

Epinephrine - (C9H13NO3) It is a hormone produced majorly by the adrenal gland in the human body. Also known as adrenaline, it is also produced by some parts of the central nervous system and chromaffin cells. When you catch sight of your beloved and your heart starts racing, that's because of the adrenaline rush produced by your body. When you are attracted to someone, the initial body response is stress. This stress releases the adrenaline leading to sweaty hands, raced heartbeat, and dry mouth. It also slows down your digestive system and you feel hungry. It is the hormone responsible for the "fight-or-flight" response of the human nervous system to situations of stress.

Dopamine - (C8H11NO2) It is the hormone responsible for the "high" one feels when one is in love. Yes, this is the "drug hormone" of love. Dopamine, like endorphin, is addictive in nature and is our body's personal reward system. A neurotransmitter by nature, dopamine is produce in various parts of the brain by the hypothalamus. It is also released during the consumption of addictive substances, such as nicotine, alcohol, and drugs. Due to its addictive properties, when dopamine is released during intimacy with a partner, one becomes addicted to it. This hormone release is responsible for the feeling of clinging and jealousy that we experience in love. Scientists believe that dopamine is associated with the feeling of want and anticipation.

Serotonin - (C10H12N2O) It is a neurotransmitter responsible for giving or imparting in you the feeling of love. Majorly produced by the gastrointestinal tract, it is a biochemical byproduct of tryptophan. Also found in the central nervous system and blood platelets, maximum of it is found in the alimentary canal, known as the "gut" in layman's language. It is the hormone responsible for loss of appetite during love. It is also responsible for the feeling of butterflies in your stomach. Serotonin levels help you understand intimacy and romance. Higher serotonin levels lead to faster healing of wounds as well. That is why it is beneficial to be with our loved ones during injuries and pain. Pheromones They are chemicals that are excreted by the body and are known to induce various reactions in other beings, who are at the receiving end. There are various kinds of pheromones, but sex pheromones are the ones important in this context. They are dubbed as the silent signals that mammals send out to each other with the help of smell and other olfactory means. These signals are believed to be signs for them to find and identify an appropriate sexual partner. They are known to change the behavior of the opposite sex and sometimes even trigger sexual excitement in them. Although there is no evidence of them being present in humans, various studies have proved that smell plays a vital role in human mating and selection of a partner.

The Stage of Attachment

Oxytocin - (C43H66N12O12S2) It is another neurotransmitter found in the brain of all mammalian creatures. It is a hormone from the peptide family. It is produced by the hypothalamus and stored in the pituitary gland. The name oxytocin comes from a Greek word that means "easy birth." It was named so due to its function in giving birth and uterine contraction. Various studies have been undertaken to examine the role of oxytocin in several human activities, including social recognition, pair bonding, orgasm, anxiousness, and motherly instincts. Hugging is believed to release oxytocin. A study shows that oxytocin is released in women when they have an orgasm. However, for men, oxytocin is released when they achieve an orgasm with a woman they love. Also dubbed as the "trust hormone", oxytocin is known for having the capacity to promote monogamy.

Vasopressin - (C46H65N13O12S2) This is also a hormone from the peptide family. It helps in turning a male into a better nurturer of the offspring, making for caring fathers. It also has numbing and consoling effects on the body. In mammals, it is known to make them venture out more and become exploratory. Both the peptide hormones, vasopressin and oxytocin, play an important function in brain maturation. Vasopressin is at its peak during intimate arousal. It plays a role in determining the preference that a male gives to certain women. In some, it also promotes the selection of a particular feminine companion. Vasopressin has been found in prairie voles -- mammals that are known to pair for life. When scientists blocked the receptors for vasopressin in these mammals, it led to an outbreak of adultery. This goes to prove the importance of vasopressin in lifelong bonding.

Endorphins
These, too, are peptides that work as neurotransmitters. Produced by the pituitary gland, the vertebrae and the hypothalamus, it is released during intimacy, orgasm, excitement, pain, exercise, consumption of spicy food, etc. It is referred to as more of a bodily activity than a chemical compound. Endorphin is also known as endogenous morphine; endogenous because it is produced within the body, by the body itself. It has opioid-like effects, which are the world's oldest drugs. Release of endorphins is nothing more than the body's way to reward itself. They are addictive in nature. After the initial rush of love, endorphins help the body settle into a comfortable and constant relationship. Where phenylethylamine helps fall in love, endorphins help stay in love.

So much for the magic of love and the realms written on it! But there is a bigger question here. What triggers the release of these hormones? Well, apart from chemistry, basic human instinct also plays a major role, and it is this feeling within us that triggers these chemicals. Not only humans, but all mammals are also blessed with an inner conscience that works above these hormones. The feelings may be triggered due to the release of a few hormones, but the hormones at the end of the day are released due to the feeling within, which is higher than these mere chemicals.

Sweet Nothings - Ways to Say 'I Love You'

When lovers meet, sweet nothings are exchanged, yes? Not really, no. Definitely not always. You see, there are phases. Take for example, the beginning of a new relationship. A phase where everything that the person does fascinates you, hence, sweet words are easy to come by. Which is why, your partner getting out of bed in their pajamas, slowly rubbing their eyes to nudge away the sleep, is also reason enough to hug them from behind, nestle your head into the crook of their neck, and whisper sweet nothings into their ears. Give and take a few months and this might not always be the case. The love is always there, no doubt, but the words are exchanged with actions―making coffee for them, recording their favorite show for them to watch over the weekend, and a little bit of this and that. It becomes routine, it becomes simple, and there's no fuss and muss about it.

And that is precisely what we're trying to shake off. The routine and mundane, for the unexpected and romantic. Many people are convinced of the fact that coming up with sweet nothings is an impossible task, that they don't just sway that way. Which is why, we're giving you certain examples of sweet nothings that you can take up and make a success of.

Sweet Nothings Examples

Without having to say what you're feeling in those many words, there are still plenty of things that you can take up to show your affection, your love, and any other positives that you're feeling. The following is a listing of precisely those activities.

  • Steamy Affair
Here's what you do―go in for a shower (and make sure that you go in before him), and when the bathroom is all steamy, write a big 'I LOVE YOU' on the mirror. Then wait for the steam to be gone so that the message is hidden. Now all you do is wait for him to go in for his bath, and when he does steam up the bath, the message will be loud and clear. You just sit on the bed and watch him come out with a smile on his face. Alternately, you can also let your sentiments be known with the help of your crimson lipstick. Maybe early in the morning when he goes for his shave and finds the etchings on the mirror?

  • Hunting for Love
2 words―Treasure. Hunt. No matter what age you're at, this one is bound to get the excitement flowing. Yes it requires a little planning to make it work like a charm, but, my dear friend, imagine the fun she will have going from clue to clue. First things first, pen down your 'I love you' or any other compliment that you want to bestow on your love, and hide it where your partner is unlikely to look for it. Then, set about writing clues that range from the simple to the really complex and tough. Can you imagine the kind of fun it will be watching her? And well worth it for sure.

  • Love Notes
The simplest way to say it other than by speech is with written words. So you do just that. Write down some love messages of what you need to say to him/her and then find innovative ways to slip in that note to him/her. Our top favorites are in his work briefcase or her purse. Or, you could also mail the note to him/her. Imagine the surprise and elation for having used a technology that anyone rarely uses these days.

  • Words Are All You Have
Though there is nothing that can take the place of the 'I Love You', there are definitely more creative ways to say it like it is. So a differently-worded confession that packs in sentences like 'I Adore You', 'I Appreciate You', or 'I Crave You' are all very, very welcome. And you know what else? Try using different styles like writing a poem if you're good with that, rapping a song or a sonnet (not necessarily written by you), creating a comic featuring the two of you as the central characters... who would not be floored, my friend? Who?

  • Of Massages and More
Who's saying that you have to be all about the writing? Not necessary at all. You can show it through actions as well. We're thinking back rubs, shoulder rubs, and massages. If that does not show how much you love your partner, nothing else will. For one, there is nothing quite like getting a massage, and two, getting it from your partner gives it an intimate feel. It's for you to decide whether you want it to be a relaxing, calming, feel good massage, or a really, really intimate one that gets the heart pounding and promises more.

Romantic Things to Say to your Boyfriend

As it may be, it's a rule. We, women, are more expressive and easier to read, in comparison to men. We choose the exact words to prattle about, ensure the right intonation, and make sure we end up dissecting an otherwise casual issue. And men? Men just usher in, and nod. Then again, I might sound staunchly chauvinistic, having said that it's we who look for tones, and it's we again, who are eloquent and dramatic. May be, that's how we are wired, brain-wise. However, if you're one of those females who find themselves frequently tongue-tied, it might as well be better for you to loosen up a bit. Figure out a bunch of romantic things to say to your boyfriend, in text or in person, and don't forget to keep it real. When there's no room for action, it is some starry-eyed, lovey-dovey words that will do the trick for you. To bring him closer. To make him yours. Let's get started with some of the most romantic words that you could say to the man of your life - meticulously picked so that you don't sound like a dork, and definitely not cheesy.

Romantic Things to Say to Him

Waking up with a greeting, sleeping by hearing your last words for the day... how would he not fall for even the slightest and shortest of wordings you dedicate to him? Begin your day with a breezy 'Good morning, Honey-bunch', and end it with a dozy 'Sweet Dreams, Sugar'. But what to say throughout the day? Here are my top picks.
  • When you kiss me without uttering a single word, you speak to my soul. Life without you would be like a broken pencil... pointless.
  • If I mixed a bit of Keith Urban, tinge of Brad Pitt, a fraction of Tom Hanks, and a large amount of Zac Efron... I'll get you! Perfect.
  • I love you - these three words have my life in them.
  • It ain't raining, just drizzling here. Makes me reminiscent of the songs we used to share.
  • You know, you make my world.
  • Your dimensions are just about appropriate for it. (This one is funny for sure!)
  • Your smile makes me laugh! Your laugh makes me smile. Every time I see your face, I can never frown on that day.
  • I'm not going to say that I can't live without you, because I can... I just don't want to!
  • Yeah, being with you is difficult sometimes, but being without you? Impossible!
  • Whether it is making up or making out, it's blissful only because of you.
  • Do you have any idea how fast my heart races when I am with you?
  • This day means a lot to me, but without you by my side, even the most meaningful day would be worth nothing!
  • Some things in life make you come up with great one liners. And then, there is you, who makes me go absolutely speechless.
  • You say you love me and want to hold me tight. These words run through my head day and night. I dream of you holding me and making me see, that forever together we're meant to be.
  • Between life and death, YOU are the best thing that happened to me.
Sometimes, he wouldn't respond to you with words - his response would show in his eyes, and on his lips. It shouldn't surprise you if he doesn't do that either, for he'd take no time to take you in his arms, and never let go. Words, they have an unreal effect sometimes. With that said, I'll bend my advice on what all could you use as some mushy wordings to make your boyfriend's day. If dramatics or contrived one liners don't fetch you enough response, just tell him straight with a tight hug and a sweet kiss. It does make all the difference, doesn't it?

Romantic Evening Ideas

May it be a mundane, regular sort of day or Valentine's Day, when you're in love, it seems like love is always in the air. You begin to see couples everywhere. Then there are those couples who are dating, planning incessantly to have their best date possible. Romance is definitely being expressed through flowers, teddy bears, jewelry and cards. While these are the staple gifts that seem to be making way, sometimes, the art of romance needs to be planned. That is if you really wish to impress your date. This does not always mean that every move needs to be planned to perfection, but it would certainly help to have a fair idea of a romantic evening ahead. Why? This will help you portray your interest in the level that you will go to in order to show your appreciation. There are some who prefer to have a usual romantic evening and there are others who would rather have a romantic rendezvous on a deserted island. The ideas for a romance-filled evening are aplenty and all you need to do is apply your creativity to have some fun. Try a new approach towards your romantic evenings and watch the glow on his/her face.

Ideas for an Interesting and Romantic Evening

Can't think of any great ideas to turn the eve into one of those romance-infused eves? What are we here for then? The following ideas for your picking. Choose what you like best or use them all in succession, why not?

Romance at Dinner
A candlelit dinner is usually on the list of many. While you might think that it is a highly hackneyed idea, you cannot deny the fact that it is one of the most romantic ideas. Plus, one can always find better and innovative ways of planning the dinner. Maybe you always take her/him out? This time, why not plan a romantic evening at home itself? Surprise your partner with a lavish dinner cooked at home. Decorate your room with rose petals and candles. Play soft music and pull out the wine glasses. Partner working late? You can arrange for a limo to pick her/him up. They'd be rather dazzled with all the romantic settings you have done at home. Make sure you have some luxurious bath oils at hand and the both of you can have a fun time giving each other a much-needed massage. And after? Why not cuddle up together and watch your favorite movie together?

Fun at the Beach
If you have access to the beach, you can plan a beach outing to one of the not-so-frequented places. Pack a sumptuous lunch and dinner. Take along some rugs and sheets. Make a bonfire and cuddle up while watching the sunset together. Take a dip in the azure waters or explore the beautiful surroundings. You can even go for a romantic walk in the water or lie down and count the stars. The feel of the sand beneath your feet and the fresh salty air are bound to make this one of the most romantic evenings for you. Don't you think?

Room Service, Anyone?
If you are plain bored of having a dinner at home or even the usual evening dining out somewhere, why not change the plan a little? Book a room for two at a luxurious hotel! And let it be a surprise for him/her. Imagine. Just imagine. Also, the hotel need not be somewhere really far, it could well be in your neighborhood. It's what's in the hotel and what happens there that really matters. All you need to do is pack some clothes and head out to this place to be pampered in true style. Look for hotels that have spa treatments. Pretty sure your partner would love some pampering after a hard day at work. Once the both of you have refreshed yourself, why not go shopping at the boutiques within the hotel? Get a super sexy outfit and order for room service. Use this quality time to converse with each other. Leave love notes in some places in the room and get yourself showered with more love and affection once your partner discovers these.

Boating and Bonding
Know what's fun? Setting out into the deep blue sea on a boat. How do we get that done? Check the availability of the boat rides available in your city or in the neighboring city perhaps, then book one. Pick a snazzy boat and head out for a boat ride into the sunset. Pack your dinner and enjoy the beautiful environs. Have a romantic chat together and anchor at a beautiful spot. Can you imagine it now? What a romantic evening it will be, spent in the outdoors. Soaking in the nature and connecting with your partner.

Surprise Pick-up
Pick up your date from her workplace and surprise her with a long drive for the evening. Plan for an overnight stay at any weekend getaway places that have plenty of things in store for fun and relaxation. You can surprise her further with a bagful of clothing, which she may need for the overnight stay. Play romantic songs, which can be enjoyed by both, and go for a quiet dinner at the resort beneath a star-lit sky. Follow this up with an exotic bubble bath at night and open a bottle of champagne at the end of it all.

Dancing Under the Stars
Sometimes, the simplest ideas can infuse a mundane evening with romance and turn it into a memory worth cherishing for a lifetime. So then instead of constantly trying to come up with extravagant ideas that require a whole lot of planning and the like, why not simply focus on spending some quality time with your partner? With the extensive planning out of the way, one can focus on turning any evening into a memorable one with whatever resources are available. A simple idea? If you have access to a terrace or a garden, use it. Light it up with candles or dim lighting, set up a blanket (a tent if you can), food (and wine) and to top it off - soft, romantic music. Then dance the night away to the sappiest, most mushy songs (or whatever works for you) you can find. The point is that you spend time with each other and have a great time.

Planning a romantic evening does not mean you need to keep worrying about how things will work out. Just let yourself enjoy the eve, have fun and you'll have a successful date. For sure.
